The wedding of their youngest sister, Janet, brings Gwen and Kay home to St. John’s, Newfoundland. While Janet struggles to hide her family’s dysfunction, Kay can’t help but create chaos wherever she goes and Gwen finds herself paralyzed by a past secret. The complicated web of relationships between the sisters, their Aunt Maureen, their absent mother, and Kay’s young daughter Billie, is only illuminated by the wedding. Gwen’s attempts to get Kay to take responsibility for her daughter highlights her own abandonment of her ex, Tom, leading them all to a not-so-perfect storm of a reception.

Evil Mr.Grimes keeps a rag-tag bunch orphans on his farm deep in a swamp in the US South. He forces them to work in his garden and treats them like slaves. They are watched over by the eldest, Molly. A gang in league with Mr. Grimes kidnaps Doris, the beautiful little daughter of a rich man, and hides her out on Grimes’ farm, awaiting ransom. When the police close in, and Mr. Grimes threatens to throw Doris into the bottomless mire, Molly must lead her little flock out through the alligator-infested swamp.

Kyle (Markiss McFadden), one of the many orphans raised in an orphanage by Father Antonio (Paul Sorvino) is an assassin who is sent on missions; from God. For years Father Antonio led these boys to believe they are killing in the name of God. Kyle was one of the best executioners of Father Antonio’s men. After placing a bomb in a little coffee shop to execute the owner a little boy Matthew (Aiden Wind) and his mother walks in the restaurant just seconds before the explosion. Kyle decided to save both of them but unfortunately he was only able to save the little boy. A reluctant Kyle takes him in and keeps him hidden for seven days. Through a very complex relationship Kyle discovers a different side in him he didn’t know existed. With all the fights, bullets flying, and explosions it’s going to be harder than he thought keeping Matthew safe. But with the help of Kyle’s beautiful neighbor Tara (Mischa Barton) it just might be possible.

A little known fact is that Chinggis Khaan, better known as Genghis Khan, would collect orphans from his bloody battlefields and have his own mother raise them. These adopted brothers grew up to become his most loyal officials and advisers. Khaan organised his Mongol soldiers into groups according to the decimal system. Soldiers were arranged in units of 10 (“aravt”), 100 (“zuut”), 1,000 (“minghan”) and 10,000 (“tumen”). Each unit had an appointed leader reporting to a larger unit. A 10-person “aravt” unit is ordered by Khaan to locate a skilled doctor who lives in a forest. En route, they discover an abandoned baby. He is in fact the child of an enemy warrior who gives pursuit, even though they have saved the child’s life. Whilst protecting the child from attacks from enemy soldiers, the members of the “aravt” must also complete their mission. Through their actions, they demonstrate the benevolence and bravery of Mongol warriors as the final battle closes in.
